Three Navy regions across the United States – Navy Region Southeast, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic and Navy Region Southwest – will discuss their approaches to community partnerships and share recent success stories and best practices. Panel members will share successful partnership ideas in DCIP, REPI and DEAAG programs; explore the process, roles, tools and outcomes of community engagement to increase installation climate resiliency; and discuss how successful partnerships with the Port of San Diego and Scripps Institute of Oceanography have aided in better understanding of sea level rise and climate change to further understanding of potential long-term strategies of installation resiliency. Those same partnerships and the first-of-its-kind San Diego Bay Integrated Natural Resource Management Plan can aid in furthering nature-based solutions in support of climate goals.
