Furthering Defense-Community Relationships and Cooperation at Guard and Reserve Locations

With 1.038M Reservists serving, the Reserve Components of the Armed Forces are woven into the fabric of our local communities. Using the Army as an example, there are 2,500 Army National Guard Readiness Centers in 2100 locations, and 886 Reserve Centers in many locations nationwide. Unlike traditional fence line installations, these Reserve facilities are often an isolated island within the local community, dependent on non-military sources for many services. This presents unique opportunities for local partnerships that unlock the value of Reserve facilities & acreage, and surplus capacity from local Governments, organizations and service providers.
